When I tried to see allocation for one of my databae, i am getting un-handled error "These columns don't currently have unique values."

It works for other databases.

Any idea whats wrong? How to find and fix it in my DB?

Hi,

I installed this and the menu is not showing up on my SSMS. the SQL server is 64 bit however, SSMS is 32 bit version.

Can you suggest what could be wrong?

Hi Paul,

That sounds about right. It doesn't recognise that a database is offline or restoring, then crashes. I'll get it fixed in the next version.

I think the problem may be caused by me taking one or more of the databases in my list offline. When they are all online the allocation info window opens up.

I've just downloaded the latest release(0.4), uninstalled an old version and installed on my machine. It seems as though when I'm not connected to a server in object explorer the add-in opens when I select 'Show Allocation Info' from the menu, then when I connect to a server the database list doesn't refresh in the add-in. If I then try and close and re-open the add-in when connected to a server the add-in doesn't appear. I have done a 'Show windows' from the menu but no sign of the add-in.
I'm on a x64 windows 2003 server, running SQL 2005 developer - I'm happy to provide more details of the setup of my machine if it would be of help.

Does this add-in work with the Express edition of SSMS 2005? I installed it but nothing shows up in the View menu.

Thanks for the quite response, and I took you advice and discovered the window was coming up but it was minimized that is why I couldn't see it at first. I'll go ahead and try out the new release .2a.

I've just created a new release (0.2a) that's under the planned releases tab. It should make sure the window is in the correct place when installed. You'll need to uninstall the previous version first.

Also, before you start the app delete the two .prf files in %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Microsoft SQL Server\90\Tools\Shell\ to make sure the window position is reset.

If that doesn't work there may be a few other things to try...

If SSMS is maximised the window can sometime appear underneath the main window. If that doesn't work try a reinstall

Doesn’t display at all now should adjust any settings, options in SSMS? I’m sure I’m overlooking something simple.<o:p></o:p>

I've installed the SSMS Allocation Add-in on my SQL 2005 instance, but when I go to select the view option nothing shows up...
